The teaching of science can be a challenging task, attributed to a variety of reasons including:-
Low student aptitudes/ability
Ingrained misconceptions
The essence of scientific knowledge
The abstract nature of science concepts
Cognitively ill-equipped for abstract ideas
The complexity of the language of science
Large amount of content presented to the learners
Negativity in attitudes students have for the subject
This task is even more challenging in large classrooms settings (>200 students). Through the students' evaluation, we acknowledged that students want engagement and interaction with their instructor and peers in the classroom.
