The limitation in classroom teaching:

The teaching of science can be a challenging task, attributed to a variety of reasons including:-

  • Low student aptitudes/ability

  • Ingrained misconceptions

  • The essence of scientific knowledge

  • The abstract nature of science concepts

  • Cognitively ill-equipped for abstract ideas

  • The complexity of the language of science

  • Large amount of content presented to the learners

  • Negativity in attitudes students have for the subject


This task is even more challenging in large classrooms settings (>200 students). Through the students' evaluation, we acknowledged that students want engagement and interaction with their instructor and peers in the classroom.
